Our founder, Carol, recently took part in the 100 Black Men of London (100BMOL) Annual Careers Fair on Saturday, 8 March 2025. The event brought together mentors, industry professionals, and young people for a day focused on career development, leadership, and community empowerment.
100BMOL runs an award-winning Community Mentoring Programme that supports Black children and parents across London through life skills, confidence building, and personal development. Their key programmes include:
• ‘Me I Can Be’ (MICB) – A life-skills programme for ages 10–15, helping young people explore their strengths, set goals, and build self-belief.
• Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) – A pathway focused on developing leadership skills and applying them to real-life situations.
• Peer Mentoring Programme (PMP) – Graduates of MICB and YLA mentor their peers, strengthening communication, public speaking, and project management skills.
• Parents in Partnership (PIP) – A support forum empowering parents to lead confidently in their children’s development.
During the Careers Fair, Carol joined table-top discussions where she shared insights on careers, growth, and navigating challenges. She also took part in small-group mentoring sessions and a mock interview panel, giving young people aged 9–16 valuable real-world experience and guidance.
100BMOL continues to seek new mentors—particularly men—who are passionate about supporting the next generation. Those interested can find out more through the organisation’s platforms.
The organisation has also launched the “Creating Safe Spaces for Young Faces” Building Fund, an initiative aimed at securing a dedicated community space to support their ongoing mentoring and empowerment programmes. Supporters can contribute by donating or helping raise awareness of the cause.
